“ We were in the area and decided to check this spot out as we were in the mood for chicharron and our friends recommended it. I'm so happy we popped by! It wa super busy, loud, and fairly packed, and seems to be a local favorite with many regulars eating there. That being said, we were seated pretty quickly. The staff was very friendly and kind, answering whatever questions we had and making recommendations. We ended up ordering Repollina al Patron, Arepa Combinacion, and Lomo de Cerdo a la Parrilla. For drinks, we decided to try the Lulo and Burojo. The Repollina was absolutely delicious! It's a mix of chicharron, chorizo, shrimp, and shredded pork served on fried green plantains. Everything was well seasoned and well made, especially the shredded pork, which was tender and juicy. It was a very generous portion for the price. The Lomo de Cerdo was so good! The pork was well seasoned and cooked, and wasn't tough to cut through. It was juicy enough and I enjoy it with the beans and rice. This was also a really generous portion and filled up my entire plate. The Arepa Combinacion was also really good and was a very generous portion. I wish the chicharron wasn't as oily but it was still really tasty. I loved the Lulo, which tastes like passionfruit mixed with citrus. It was a very unique flavor that's tart but also sweet. The Burojo was also really delicious and tasted like a milkshake when blended with the milk. It has a malty taste and is moderately sweet. I enjoyed both drinks. Overall, this is a great spot with delicious food that's generous with its portion and decent with the price. It was fairly busy when we went but seating didn't take too long. I recommend popping by if you're in the area and looking for some good food! ”
“ You can't go to Queens and not eat Colombian food. Cositas Ricas makes outstanding Colombian food. And they are open 24 hours - which means you can have your Colombian food at 3 am if you are so inclined. And don't worry about missing the Mets game, while you eat. The Mets play on 13 screens in one small room. You not only won't miss a single play. You won't miss a single ad. * * * Before I gush anymore, let me put out one word of warning. My wife is not as keen as Cositas Ricas as I am. She ordered a Salmon in an outstanding salad dressing with good vegetables ... But the fish was way undercooked. I don't think this was the cook's intention. I think it was a goof. These things happen. * * * It probably happened because the cook was devoting his or her full attention to making me one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. This was your basic "every kind of seafood you can think of in a rich tomato sauce." You can find a million dishes of this caliber in Marseilles, or Italy or Spain. It is as Mediterranean as cooking gets. San Francisco has its cioppino which is outstanding eating as well. Well, Colombia has two coasts and Colombia has tomatoes. They can play this game as well as anybody. * * * Which did I like better, the incredibly rich and tasty sauce, Or each of the many kinds of perfectly cooked fresh-off-the-boat shellfish? * * * Yes, to both of the above. ”
“ I've been coming here for 20 years and was sooo happy to see this place still open when I was visiting NY. It hasn't changed and the food is still as yummy as I remember it. If you want authentic Colombian food this place definitely doesn't disappoint. Service is great, food is amazing. Their Colombian baked goods are soooo delish! Definitely take a few to go home with. Whether you're from queens or visiting definitely check this place out. ”
“ I walked in around 11 AM looking for something delicious and satisfying. It's a cold brutal wintry day think 30 degrees in NYC. I felt like something hot, so I went with the daily special: chicken soup. It tasted yummy. And I had no wait. I went in with my good friend so it wasn't hard to find seating. The decor is decent, but it's kind of like a diner but cuter. The service was okay. It is neither rapid or fast. I had table service, and my waiter spoke English and Spanish. Our meals (calentado and sopa) didn't take a long time. I also found the food pretty good. I definitely left feeling full, and it tasted flavorful to me. I also saw that there was plenty of seating next to the window letting in all the light and also more outdoor seating for warmer weather. I have to recommend that it's not the place if you need to get in and get out. I see some people ordering take out so that's an option as well. All around me, I observe families having a blast just chilling inside and enjoying the meals. It seems like a good place to me. I would return! ”
